Orikaso Flatworld Dinner Set (224g)Overview
This set for two people breaks down into:
Everything is stored by undoing the origami and then the two plates fit together with everything inside. The idea is so bizarre that you mentally struggle with the idea that your dinner set will slip down the side of a pack and that you will not need to make space for it. Individual pieces are available from suppliers and Orikaso do several mixes of products for different people. I suspect that the larger mug that is now available will be what I use in the future. Outdoor TestingFrankly, I did not believe that it would ever work. Amazingly it does and it does so very well. On the first trip out with it I was gingerly assembling the cup whilst waiting for my coffee to boil. When you are on top of a hill practicing origami you do wonder if the cup will work at all. However, like all the Orikaso stuff, once assembled the cup becomes something that is stable and works. I am happy to say that I have drunk plenty of coffee out of this strange little cup without incident. The bowl and plate likewise work as you expect. Once you have finished your food all you do is flatten them all and wipe-clean with a damp cloth. Easy! Early ConclusionsThe plastic chosen is one that likes being folded. The 'hinges' become both stronger and more flexible with use. The weigt, price and durability of the product all seem OK so far. For the short trips that I have been doing I just tend to take a cup with me and slip it somewhere in the pack. On longer trips I am sure that the rest of the set will come with me. |
